Reading Assignments

The key contents of the MICROBIAL EVOLUTION and ECOLOGY course depend primarily on the choices made by the participants by designing their own course. In general, the contents are contained in chapters 11 to 15, 18, 19 and 25 of Madigan, M.T., J.M. Martinko and J. Parker, "BROCK, BIOLOGY OF MICROORGANISMS", 10th ed. 2003, Prentice Hall or on chapters 12 to 14, 16, 17 and 22 of the "9th ed. of BROCK, BIOLOGY OF MICROORGANISMS".

Supplementary information to the topics of the course can be found in chapters 29 to 32 of the book by Lengeler J.W., G. Drews & H.G. Schlegel (eds.), Biology of the Prokaryotes.

Reference copies of the follwing books are available in the reading room of the library at the Botanical Garden where they may be consulted. The books may not be removed from the library during the course.
